SEPTEMBER 26, 2013 — Floatel International has been awarded a contract for provision of an accommodation and construction support vessel for the INPEX-operated Ichthys LNG Project.
The Ichthys Field is located approximately 220 km off the north-west coast of Western Australia, at the western edge of the Timor Sea. The water depth is approximately 250 meters.
Floatel International's latest newbuilding semi, Floatel Triumph is nominated for the work.
Floatel Triumph is due for delivery from Singapore's Keppel FELS Shipyard in December 2015. It will be a sister vessel to Floatel Victory and will be built to the shipbuilder’s proprietary SSAU5000NG design.
The new semi will have the capacity to accommodate 500 persons in single and double bed cabins, ample recreation areas as well as office facilities for client use. It will incorporate the latest technology such as DP3 and enhanced station-keeping, enabling it to operate securely alongside fixed and floating platforms (including Floating Production, Storage and Offloading Vessels), with a full complement of deck cranes, large open deck area, workshops and fire fighting capabilities.
