Braemar opens ship broking operation in Houston

APRIL 16, 2013 — Denis Petropoulos, Executive Director of Braemar Shipping Services plc, says that a new ship broking desk being set up in the company's Houston office "adds an exciting and dynamic dimension to our presence in what is the world's premier oil and gas center."

Braemar says the new Houston operation will focus on the large crude and products tanker trades and that the new operation will hit the ground running following the employment of four experienced tanker brokers. Nelson Hebert, Clint DeAtley, Chip Kelman and John Anderson have all come across town to the Braemar office. They will be joined by ex‐MJLF broker and past Tanker Pacific chartering executive, Lynne Rutherford.

Mr. Petropoulos says the Houston ship broking desk will strongly complement the tanker broking services that Braemar currently has in London and Singapore.

"Houston is geographically well placed for shipping and trading and together with London and Singapore, gives us 24 hour coverage to the markets,ʹʹ he says.
